About Phelon & Moore
Phelon & Moore is a brand with a long history in the automotive industry, having been a key manufacturer of ignition systems and other engine components in the 19th and 20th centuries. The company gained popularity thanks to its innovative solutions in the production of powertrain elements, which were used not only in motor vehicles but also across various sectors of industry.
Its work had a significant impact on the development of engine technology during that era. Today, the brand is part of larger corporations, but it still remains a symbol of quality and engineering tradition.
From 1904 to 1967, Phelon & Moore produced motorcycles in Cleckheaton, Yorkshire (England), most notably the Panther models. A distinctive feature of their design was the large, 40° inclined single-cylinder engine, which also served as a stressed member of the frame. This innovative solution was used throughout the company’s history—from the early 500cc engines to the final 645cc machines.
Phelon & Moore Product Range
At EICMA 2024, Phelon & Moore unveiled four new models: the Capetown, the compact Panther cruiser, and the Panthette S and Panthette X—two urban scooters.
The Panther motorcycle is an authentic cruiser, equipped with a liquid-cooled V-Twin engine paired with a belt drive, featuring a low seat and forward riding position. Despite its classic cruiser character, the bike has been designed to take on the road in a dynamic and modern way.
The Capetown is a contemporary interpretation of a touring motorcycle, capable of sporty handling on paved roads while maintaining performance beyond the end of the asphalt. A low seat and center of gravity contribute to greater rider confidence, complemented by high-quality brakes that ensure full control at any moment.
The Panthette models are stylish scooters, equipped with a liquid-cooled 4-valve engine, delivering excellent performance and reliability.
